Short Bio
My name is Jeremy Dorn and I am currently a Computer Science sophomore at Arizona State University.
In 2004, I signed up for a web design class at my high school, where I learned the basics of html and javascript. While in the class, I taught myself CSS and PHP.
The following year, I signed up for an advanced web design internship class. There I learned graphic design and most importantly, communication skills. The class consisted of wandering around my school and finding teachers who needed website help. To create effective websites, I needed to communicate and put the information I got into a well-designed site.
In my senior year, I was involved in a Robotic's Club, where we designed and built a robot. I learned the C programming language and was the main programmer for the robot. Being in the club also gave me an opportunity to further my web design skills. I experimented with advanced javascript and complex logic while I created the website for the club.
At Arizona State University, I am learning many new programming languages and web design techniques. Currently, I am proficient in Java, C, C++, PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, and SQL. I have extensive experience with Ajax, MySQL, CakePHP, and Linux. I plan to continue learning for the rest of college and beyond.
